The core teaching modules will still be covered, but you may have more flexibility in when and how you complete the assignments and assessments. There may also be some differences in how the material is presented, such as through videos, readings, and online discussions.
Our Online CELTA TEFL course is delivered online through a combination of video conferencing software like Zoom, and web-based application (approved by Cambridge).
The input sessions will be held over video conferencing software like Skype or Zoom. In these sessions, the course tutor will introduce the day's topic and then present a range of materials on that topic. After the presentation, there will be a chance for questions and discussion.
The University of Cambridge requires candidates on all CELTA courses to teach for a total of six hours during the course. This online teaching is observed and assessed by our course tutors and is divided into separate teaching slots for each candidate. Online Teaching practice will be conducted with real learns through Zoom, as per the alloted schedule.
The criteria of the Online CELTA assessment and moderation is exactly the same as the full-time and part-time face-to-face courses leading to the same qualification.
To successfully complete the course you need to spend a minimum of fifteen hours a week online to work on interactive tasks, participate in guided video observation, forum discussions and the online teaching. Read more about assessment here.
